Lead singer, Bobby Waller, was raised in an old-fashioned Quaker tradition and forbidden to partake in secular culture. He wanted to be a good boy, but his interminable curiosity got the better of him and he started reading comic books against his mothers wishes. “The Devil Made Me Do It” is a Mighty Wallops original about the deleterious effects those comic books had on his poor, impressionable soul.
Written by Irving King in 1925, “Show Me the Way to Go Home” is a good-time standard that may be best know as “that drinking song from Jaws.” It's always a rouser, but it gets even crazier when the Wallops crank it up to hot jazz speed and pull out all the stops.
